The Sedona Village Business Association
Located at the Gateway to Red Rock Country, the Village area of Sedona is one of the jewels of Arizona. The Sedona Village Business Association is a group of people dedicated to making your visit to Sedona as fulfilling as possible. Sedona Village offers that wonderful small town resort feeling in comparison to the urban feeling of the City of Sedona. Sedona Village offers a full compliment of services for visitors and residents alike.
For visitors, there are many types of accommodations such as B&Bs, hotels, and resorts, a variety of restaurants from informal to gourmet. There are also many recreational opportunities such as hiking, biking, and tours, shopping for art, memorabilia and even toys for your pets! After you’ve experienced a magnificent sunset in the Greater Sedona Area, enjoy different venues for entertainment including live music and theater, and many types of services like convenience stores, banks, and shuttle services.
The Sedona Village Business Association also serves residents and those who are looking to relocate to Sedona and the Sedona Village. Members include restaurants, lodging properties, realtors, financial advisers, medical services, construction companies, various consulting services and much more.
Whether you are visiting, live in, or plan to move to the Greater Sedona Area, Sedona Village has that small town feeling and all you need in your daily activities.
Vision Committee Meeting, Thursday, Oct 6, 2pm in the Forrest Service Visitor Center
Hi Everyone,
The next meeting of the Vision Committee is scheduled for Thursday, October 6, at 2 p.m. in the Forest Service VISITOR CENTER conference room. This is probably the most important meeting to date as we start to get ready for the major community event. PLEASE, IF YOU ARE PLANNING TO BE IN TOWN, TRY TO MAKE IT! (Even if you are not planning to be in town.)
The first of the Donuts & Dialog sessions was held on Sept 20, in the afternoon at Sedona Golf Resort, with 22 in attendance. The next will be at VOCA, on Sept 27, from 6 – 7:30 p.m. The last one will be Saturday morning, October 1, from 9-10:30 a.m. at MarketPlace Café. PLEASE TRY TO MAKE ONE OF THESE AND BRING OTHERS WITH YOU!
We will have the results of the 3 Donuts and Dialog sessions compiled for discussion at the October 6 meeting. A copy of the PowerPoint slides used in those sessions is attached, as well as a summary of the feedback from the first session.
The main agenda item for the Vision Committee meeting will focus on the Major Community Participation Event(s). Hilton has given us use of the Hilton Tequa Ball room for two days (to hold two sessions if we wish) and will be providing refreshments. We have to decide:
1) how to best deal with and organize all the data we have
2) what the participative process will be,
3) what dates and times we want to schedule the session(s), and, critically,
4) how we are going notify everyone and get them to turn out.
We will need to assign task groups to work on various assignments to make this all work.
PLEASE DO COME TO THE MEETING.
Thanks.
Mel

Yavapai Big Brothers Big Sisters is a donor and volunteer supported organization and is the nation’s leading Big Brothers Big Sisters agency in the number of children matched per capita. Founded in 1971, Yavapai Big Brothers Big Sisters currently serves over 1,000 youth in one-to-one relationships. Our service area encompasses 20 communities and 65 schools throughout Yavapai County and Sedona.
Yavapai Big Brothers Big Sisters operates under the belief that inherent in every child is the ability to succeed and thrive in life. Most children served by Yavapai Big Brothers Big Sisters are in single-parent and low-income families. As the nation’s largest donor and volunteer supported mentoring network, Big Brothers Big Sisters makes meaningful, monitored matches between adult volunteers (“Bigs”) and children (“Littles”).
Research tells us that, compared to all other children their age, boys and girls matched with a Big Brother or Big Sister perform better in school and avoid violence and illegal activities, and have stronger relationships with their parents and others.
